I am currently a senior software engineer at Wikipedia where I'm building features that serve over 300 different languages and that are used by millions of users every day across the world.
While at Wikipedia, I've worked on the mobile and desktop sites. Most recently, I've been building featues for the first major update to the desktop skin in over a decade. As part of the project, I implemented a new limited width design intended to improve the site's reading experience, accessibility, and perceived performance. I was also a leading contributor of the new typeahead search component and introduced synthetic test telemetry to monitor its rendering performance. You can see these features in action on English Wikipedia.
Some of my latest work can be seen by visiting the following open source projects:
- Vector (Wikipedia's default desktop skin)
- WVUI (Wikipedia's search component built with VueJS)
- MediaWiki (Software that powers Wikipedia)
- MobileFrontend (Powers Wikipedia's mobile site)
- MinervaNeue (Wikipedia's default mobile skin)
In my spare time, I love to explore the backcountry via backpacking, packrafting, and canyoneering. I moved to Utah, in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in the world, for this reason.
